All Things AI

That’s not the best photo of either of us – but I was chuffed to be able to add Sophia to my Wall of Fame. I left Australia with a mission to really get to grips with where AI sat in reality – both virtual and the state of play – in that I know most peoples’ perceptions of what AI is, is actually worlds away from 2018.

In the process I broke Sophia during conversation with my infamous ‘J’aimee Logic’ and have decided that when it comes to character-driven AI – Gaming and Chatbots are King (or rather non-gender specific royalty)…

I’m a Central London girl at heart, I left London decades ago back when Brick Lane was dangerous after dark, so for me CogX was a bit of a trek out at Tobacco Dock but it definitely gave me the AI/Machine Learning 101 that I’d been looking for.

Roborace is an interesting proposition – F1 style racing with no drivers, I’m not sure it’ll go the distance as it’s not the winning or speed that sends my F1 fanatic friends into a frenzy – it’s the danger and excitement. Each Roborace car is exactly the same – but it’s the team programming it and making the choices that determines who will take the lead…

That said – bringing it back to VR, as I do, my good friends at Rewind have developed content for Roborace’s Simulator which must be one hell of a ride…

CogX shares all its content on Youtube and so I thought I’d share one of the talks I enjoyed the most – Making Art Smart: How Can AI and Machine Learning Contribute to the Creative Industries? Josie Rouke’s contribution was gold.
